Rental Terms & Conditions
Welcome to RENTALIEN. These Rental Terms & Conditions (“Terms”) apply to all equipment rented through RENTALIEN, including cameras, action cameras, lenses, microphones, gaming consoles, controllers, lighting equipment, accessories, storage devices and other rental products. By placing a booking, making a payment, accepting equipment, or taking possession of any RENTALIEN equipment, you confirm that you have read and agreed to these Terms.
- 01
Booking & Reservation
A rental request is not confirmed until RENTALIEN has confirmed availability of the requested equipment, confirmed the rental dates and duration, confirmed the applicable rental price, received any required advance payment and received the required security deposit, where applicable.
Availability shown on the website, WhatsApp or social media does not guarantee that equipment is reserved until RENTALIEN confirms the booking.
Customers must provide accurate information required for processing the rental. RENTALIEN may request reasonable verification before handing over equipment.
The confirmed booking will specify (where applicable): equipment/product, package, rental period, rental charges, security deposit, pickup/delivery details, additional charges and any special conditions. The specific booking confirmation will take priority where it contains terms specific to that rental.
- 02
Rental Period
The rental period begins at the agreed pickup/delivery time and ends when the equipment has been returned to RENTALIEN and the return process has been completed.
The customer must return the equipment by the agreed date and time. Keeping equipment beyond the agreed return time without approval may result in additional charges.
- 03
Rental Charges
Rental prices are displayed or communicated by RENTALIEN and may vary depending on equipment, package, rental duration, availability, promotional offers, additional accessories and delivery/pickup requirements.
The rental fee and security deposit are separate unless specifically stated otherwise. Any promotional or discounted rate applies only to the booking for which it was offered.
- 04
Security Deposit
RENTALIEN may require a refundable security deposit before handing over equipment.
The security deposit may be used toward eligible charges including damage, loss, theft, missing accessories, late-return charges, unpaid rental charges and other agreed charges arising from the rental.
The security deposit is not automatically the maximum amount the customer may be liable for. If the actual eligible cost exceeds the security deposit, the customer may be required to pay the remaining amount.
If the equipment is returned on time and in acceptable condition, the refundable deposit will normally be released after inspection.
- 05
Equipment Handover
Before handing over equipment, RENTALIEN may test the equipment, record serial numbers, record accessories supplied, photograph or video the equipment, record existing scratches or marks, check batteries and other components and record the condition of the equipment.
Customers are encouraged to inspect the equipment before accepting it. Any visible pre-existing damage or missing item should be reported immediately.
- 06
Customer Responsibility
The customer is responsible for the equipment from the time of handover until it has been returned and accepted by RENTALIEN.
The customer must: handle equipment carefully, follow manufacturer instructions, use compatible accessories and power sources, keep equipment secure, protect equipment from theft or loss, prevent unauthorized use, use equipment only for its intended purpose and return all supplied equipment and accessories.
The customer remains responsible for the equipment even if another person uses it with the customer's permission.
- 07
Prohibited Use
Customers must not: open or disassemble equipment, attempt unauthorized repairs, modify equipment, remove serial numbers or identification markings, use incompatible accessories where they may cause damage, sub-rent the equipment, sell or transfer the equipment, use the equipment for illegal activities, intentionally expose equipment to unnecessary risk, or tamper with security or software systems.
Unauthorized repair or modification may result in repair or replacement charges.
- 08
Damage Policy
The customer may be responsible for damage caused during the rental period through misuse, negligence, dropping, impact, improper handling, improper transportation, liquid exposure, sand or dust ingress, unauthorized repair, unauthorized modification, incorrect charging, use of incompatible accessories, overheating caused by improper use or failure to follow instructions.
Damage may be physical, cosmetic, mechanical, electrical, optical, internal or software-related.
- 09
Normal Wear & Tear
Normal wear resulting from careful and reasonable use is generally not chargeable.
Normal wear does not include, for example: cracked screens, broken lenses, broken housings, deep scratches, bent ports, broken buttons, damaged charging ports, broken mounts, liquid damage, corrosion, severe impact damage or missing components.
RENTALIEN may use handover and return records to distinguish normal wear from customer-caused damage.
- 10
Water, Liquid, Sand & Dust
Water-resistant, waterproof-rated, dust-resistant or rugged equipment is not guaranteed to be damage-proof.
Customers must follow the manufacturer's operating limitations and protective procedures.
Damage caused by improper water exposure, salt water, corrosion, liquid spills, condensation, sand, dust, extreme temperatures or unsuitable environments may be chargeable.
- 11
Lost or Missing Equipment
The customer must immediately notify RENTALIEN if equipment or any accessory is lost.
Lost items may include: main equipment, batteries, controllers, chargers, cables, memory cards, cases, mounts, adapters, game discs, remotes or other supplied accessories.
The customer may be responsible for the reasonable repair or replacement cost of the missing item.
- 12
Theft
Customers are responsible for taking reasonable precautions to protect rented equipment.
If equipment is stolen, the customer must: (1) immediately notify RENTALIEN, (2) provide relevant information about the incident, (3) cooperate with RENTALIEN's investigation and (4) provide a police complaint/report where reasonably required.
Depending on the circumstances, the customer may be responsible for reasonable repair or replacement costs, subject to applicable law.
- 13
Damage Assessment & Charges
When equipment is returned damaged, RENTALIEN may inspect the equipment and, where appropriate, obtain an assessment or quotation from a repair/service provider.
Depending on the circumstances, charges may include repair costs, replacement parts, professional service charges, restoration or abnormal cleaning, replacement of equipment where repair is not reasonably possible, replacement of missing accessories and other reasonable direct costs resulting from the damage.
RENTALIEN will communicate significant damage charges to the customer with a reasonable explanation.
- 14
Late Return Policy
Equipment must be returned by the agreed return date and time.
Late returns may result in additional rental or late-return charges. If a late return affects another confirmed booking, RENTALIEN may seek reasonable direct costs resulting from the delay, subject to applicable law.
Repeated or serious late returns may affect the customer's ability to rent from RENTALIEN in the future.
- 15
Rental Extension
Customers who want to keep equipment longer must contact RENTALIEN before the scheduled return time. Extensions are subject to availability and RENTALIEN approval. Additional rental charges will apply.
A customer must not assume that keeping the equipment longer automatically extends the rental.
- 16
Cancellation Policy
Cancellation terms may vary depending on the booking. Unless a different cancellation policy is clearly stated for a particular booking, the following standard policy applies:
More than 48 hours before rental start — the customer may receive a refund of the rental amount paid, subject to applicable payment-processing charges or booking-specific terms.
24–48 hours before rental start — RENTALIEN may retain 50% of the rental fee, with the remaining eligible amount refunded.
Less than 24 hours before rental start — the rental fee may be non-refundable.
No-Show — if the customer does not collect the equipment and does not notify RENTALIEN, the booking may be treated as a cancellation within 24 hours and the rental fee may be non-refundable.
Security Deposit — where applicable, the security deposit will normally be refundable if it has not been used toward an eligible charge.
- 17
Rescheduling
Customers may request to reschedule a booking. Rescheduling is subject to equipment availability, notice provided, new rental dates, existing bookings and RENTALIEN approval.
Repeated rescheduling requests may be treated as cancellation and rebooking.
- 18
Early Return
Returning equipment before the agreed rental end date does not automatically entitle the customer to a refund for unused rental days.
Any refund or adjustment will depend on the booking terms and RENTALIEN's applicable policy.
- 19
Pickup & Delivery
Pickup and delivery options depend on the individual booking.
Where delivery is available: delivery charges may apply; the customer must provide accurate delivery information; someone must be available to receive the equipment; additional delivery attempts may result in additional charges where applicable.
The exact pickup or delivery arrangement will be confirmed during booking.
- 20
Equipment Failure
If equipment develops a genuine technical problem that was not caused by the customer, the customer must contact RENTALIEN as soon as possible. The customer should stop using the equipment if continued use could cause additional damage.
Depending on the circumstances and availability, RENTALIEN may troubleshoot the issue, replace the equipment, provide an alternative, adjust the rental arrangement or offer another reasonable solution.
Customers must not arrange unauthorized repairs.
- 21
Gaming Console Rentals
For PlayStation, Xbox and other gaming-console rentals, customers must: keep the console on a stable surface; keep ventilation openings clear; keep the console away from liquids; protect the console from excessive heat; avoid impact or dropping; use compatible cables and power sources; transport the console securely; and return all controllers and supplied accessories.
Damage caused by blocked ventilation, overheating due to misuse, liquid, impact, unauthorized modification or improper transportation may be chargeable.
- 22
Controller Damage
Controllers are part of the rented equipment.
Customers may be charged for damage caused by misuse, impact, liquid or excessive force, including broken buttons, broken triggers, cracked housing, damaged charging ports, cable damage, liquid damage, physical damage or abnormal stick damage caused by misuse.
Normal wear will be considered separately wherever reasonably possible.
- 23
Game Discs & Digital Purchases
If physical game discs are provided, customers must return them in the same condition. Lost, cracked or significantly damaged discs may result in replacement charges.
Customers must not make unauthorized purchases, subscriptions or in-game purchases using RENTALIEN accounts or payment methods.
- 24
PSN, Xbox & Online Services
Customers should use their own PlayStation Network, Xbox/Microsoft or other personal account wherever possible.
Customers must not: change RENTALIEN account credentials without permission; remove required device access; use RENTALIEN accounts for unauthorized purchases; use the equipment for fraudulent or unlawful activities; or intentionally cause account or device restrictions.
RENTALIEN is not responsible for third-party server outages, game restrictions, account bans, matchmaking issues or other third-party service problems, except where caused by RENTALIEN's own conduct.
- 25
Customer Data & Factory Reset
Customers are responsible for backing up their personal data before returning equipment. This includes photos, videos, recordings, game saves, user profiles, documents and other personal files.
RENTALIEN may reset devices or gaming consoles after return and may remove customer profiles or locally stored data to prepare the equipment for the next rental.
RENTALIEN is not responsible for personal data that the customer failed to back up.
- 26
Camera & Electronic Equipment
Customers renting cameras or other electronic equipment must: use compatible batteries and chargers; protect lenses and screens; secure equipment properly; use appropriate mounts; protect equipment during transportation; follow manufacturer limitations; avoid unnecessary impact or exposure; and report faults immediately.
- 27
Data & Storage Media
Customers are responsible for backing up all photographs, videos, recordings and other files before returning equipment or storage media.
RENTALIEN may format or erase storage media when necessary to prepare equipment for the next rental. Customers should remove their personal accounts and information before returning equipment.
- 28
Equipment Inspection
RENTALIEN may inspect equipment before handover, during return and after return. Inspection may include photographs, videos, functional testing, serial-number verification and accessory checks.
These records may be used for determining equipment condition and applicable charges.
- 29
Customer Responsibility for Third Parties
If the customer allows another person to use the rented equipment, the customer remains responsible for the equipment and compliance with these Terms.
- 30
Right to Refuse or Terminate a Rental
RENTALIEN may refuse or terminate a rental where there is a reasonable concern involving fraud, false information, non-payment, equipment misuse, illegal activity, unauthorized transfer, serious breach of these Terms, failure to return equipment or significant risk to RENTALIEN property.
Where appropriate and legally permitted, RENTALIEN may require immediate return of the equipment.
- 31
Customer Identification & Verification
RENTALIEN may request reasonable identity and contact verification before releasing equipment.
Information collected for rental purposes will be handled in accordance with applicable law and RENTALIEN's privacy practices.
- 32
Limitation of Liability
To the extent permitted by applicable law, RENTALIEN will not be responsible for indirect or consequential losses arising from equipment failure, including lost business, missed opportunities, lost footage, lost photographs, lost game progress, travel expenses, event expenses or lost data.
Customers are responsible for determining whether the equipment is suitable for their intended use and for maintaining backups of important data.
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot legally be excluded or limited.
- 33
Force Majeure
RENTALIEN will not be responsible for delays or inability to provide services caused by circumstances reasonably beyond its control, including serious technical failures, natural disasters, government restrictions, transportation disruptions or other extraordinary events.
RENTALIEN will make reasonable efforts to communicate with affected customers and provide an appropriate solution.
- 34
Dispute Resolution
If a dispute arises, the customer and RENTALIEN should first attempt to resolve the matter directly and in good faith.
If the matter cannot be resolved amicably, either party may pursue remedies available under applicable law.
- 35
Governing Law
These Terms are intended for use in India and are governed by applicable Indian law.
Any legal proceedings shall be brought before the appropriate court or forum having jurisdiction under applicable law.
- 36
Changes to These Terms
RENTALIEN may update these Terms from time to time.
The Terms applicable to a particular rental will generally be those accepted by the customer at the time of booking, together with any specific conditions communicated for that booking.
- 37
